All American Waste is seeking a Safety Specialist in Connecticut to monitor and coordinate the company’s safety programs, including DOT and OSHA compliance, audits, and training. The role involves advising on procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and communicating safety incidents across the organization.

The position requires a BS/BA in a related field, a valid driver's license, and the ability to travel.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and communicate compliance with Companywide safety programs such as fleet safety, lockout/tagout, confined space, fall protection, and other safety compliance programs.
  • Advise the Safety Manager on procedures to ensure regulatory compliance as mandated by local, state, and federal agencies, including OSHA and DOT.
  • Monitors, tracks, and communicates safety incidents across the company.
  • Analyze accident and incident reports for trends and make recommendations for correcting unsafe conditions and actions.
  • Leads and/or guides safety mentors and student interns.
  • Assists with the investigation of incidents and injuries from initial report to closure.
  • Worker's Compensation liaison with managers, employees, brokers, insurance carriers, safety, and human resources.
  • Takes an active role in improving safety and health in the workplace.
  • Maintains reasonable, regular, punctual attendance consistent with Company policies.

Position Summary:

The Safety Specialist is responsible for assisting in monitoring and coordinating the Company's safety programs, including the Department of Transportation (DOT) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) compliance, safety audits, and training.

Compensation:$65,000-$75,000

Your Role:
