Job summary

C/A Design Inc. seeks an experienced EHS Manager to lead and advance safety programs at the Exeter facility. You will drive process improvements, support manufacturing operations, and help ensure EH&S compliance across TSS sites including Nashua.

Ideal candidates hold a BS in EHS with 5+ years of manufacturing EH&S experience, plus strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills to foster a safe, efficient workplace.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in EHS; experience may substitute for degree as stated.
  • 5+ years of proven EHS experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience in high-performing manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and improve EH&S programs and policies at the Exeter facility.
  • Support production and facility needs at the Exeter site as directed by EH&S leadership and Plant Manager.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain EH&S policies across multiple sites.
  • Conduct inspections and audits; identify hazards; recommend corrective actions.
  • Coordinate EH&S training for employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Lead incident investigations and root-cause analysis; prepare reports and corrective actions.
  • Serve as a resource to EH&S Site Safety Coordinators across locations.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and maintain required records and documentation.
  • Collaborate with operations, engineering, purchasing, and HR to integrate EH&S into daily work.
  • Monitor performance metrics and report trends to management.
  • Participate in EH&S committees and audits; stay current on industry best practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Description
  • Maintain and improve upon the current EHS programs and policies at the Exeter facility.
  • Provide support for the production and facility needs of the Exeter site as deemed necessary by the Director of EH&S in conjunction with the Exeter Plant Manager.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of EH&S policies, procedures, and programs across multiple sites.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of facilities and work areas to identify hazards, unsafe conditions, and practices, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Coordinate and conduct EH&S training sessions for employees, contractors, and visitors to promote awareness and compliance with EH&S policies and regulations.
  • Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis, prepare incident reports, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
  • Serve as a resource and partner to EH&S Site Safety Coordinators at various TSS locations, providing guidance and support on EH&S issues and initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal EH&S regulations and standards, and maintain records and documentation as required.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, engineering, purchasing and human resources to facilitate EH&S considerations into daily operations and projects.
  • Monitor EH&S performance metrics, analyze trends, and prepare reports for management review.
  • Participate in EH&S committees and meetings and represent the EH&S department in internal and external audits and inspections as required.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices to assist management safely drive production while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned or deemed necessary.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in EH&S, will consider years of experience in place of
  • Operations experience in a high performing manufacturing organization
  • Minimum 5 years proven EHS experience from a similar role
  • Ability to multi-task and work with several projects simultaneously
  • Self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision, consistently taking initiative to assure tasks are finalized.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the work shift.
  • Ability to frequently use hands and fingers to operate machine controls, tools, and measuring instruments.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and components weighing up to 40 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach as required to load, unload, and inspect parts and equipment.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions involving the hands, wrists, and arms.
  • Ability to visually inspect parts, interpret and read blueprints, technical drawings, work instructions, and use gauges, and measuring devices.
  • Ability to distinguish colors, dimensions, and surface defects when performing quality inspections.
  • Ability to hear and communicate effectively in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to safely operate equipment in a fast-paced production setting while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, safety shoes, and other equipment as required.
  • Ability to work in an environment with exposure to machine noise, metal chips, cutting fluids, lubricants, and varying temperatures.
  • Ability to maintain regular attendance and work scheduled shifts, including overtime as required.
Work Environment
  • Manufacturing environment with exposure to moving mechanical equipment.
  • Frequent interaction with machine tools, raw materials, and finished products.
  • Compliance with all company safety policies, housekeeping requirements, and Foreign Object Debris (FOD) prevention practices.
  • Required use of appropriate PPE and adherence to all safety procedures.
