Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker in Elyria, OH is seeking an EH&S Manager to lead a world-class safety culture within the Engineered Fastening division.

You will implement EHS programs, coordinate audits, and manage training for all plant employees while interfacing with OSHA and EPA. A CSP is preferred, with 5+ years in heavy manufacturing and a strong OSHA/EPA knowledge base.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, or related field
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in heavy manufacturing with demonstrated ability to implement EHS programs
  • Detailed, working knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations
  • Practical experience managing EHS programs in conformance with ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead, train, and cultivate an exceptional EHS culture within the division to achieve world-class safety performance and to meet corporate objectives
  • Develop and coordinate internal auditing processes to ensure compliance with regulatory standards (OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001)
  • Deliver and track EHS training for all plant employees to ensure annual safety certifications and safe work practices
  • Serve as lead interface with OSHA, EPA, and other agencies
  • Manage industrial hygiene surveys or studies to identify and control physical and chemical stressors
  • Liaise with the global property insurance carrier to address open recommendations and ensure compliance

The Job

As an EH&S Manager, you’ll be part of our Engineered Fastening team located in Elyria, OH. You’ll get to:

  • Lead, train, and cultivate an exceptional EHS culture within the division to achieve world‑class safety performance and to meet increasingly stringent corporate performance objectives.
  • Develop and coordinate various internal auditing processes to ensure compliance with both internal and external regulatory standards such as OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001.
  • Deliver and track EHS training for all plant employees to ensure required annual safety certifications, incident prevention, emergency response and preparedness, and safe work practices.
  • Serve as lead interface with OSHA, EPA, or any other local, state or federal agency.
  • Manage and/or coordinate industrial hygiene surveys or studies to identify and control a wide variety of physical and chemical stressors.
  • Serve as the site’s liaison with designated global property insurance carrier to provide closure to open recommendations and to help ensure conformance with their requirements.

The Salary range for this position is $95,600.00 - $153,900.00 This is the lowest to highest annual full-time salary range we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. The salary offered within the range may vary depending on multiple factors including job level, geographic location, job‑related knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience and in compliance with local wage requirements.
