Job summary

Chesterfield County, VA is seeking an eGovernment Services Developer to lead the technical strategy and evolution of Chesterfield.gov and the county’s public-facing digital experiences. The role combines web development, platform administration, user experience, and digital strategy.

You will shape the web ecosystem, develop new solutions, set standards, and use data to improve how residents access government information and services online.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, web development or related field with five years of web experience.
• Experience managing or supporting enterprise websites and CMS.
• Strong HTML/CSS and modern front-end techniques.
• Experience with CMS templates, components, modules and integrations.
• Understanding of responsive design, accessibility and WCAG standards.
• Ability to translate business needs into practical web solutions and use analytics to drive decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead Chesterfield.gov digital strategy and long-term direction.
• Administer and improve the enterprise CMS, templates and integrations.
• Design accessible, responsive web interfaces using HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
• Lead major website initiatives including redesigns and migrations.
• Translate department needs into scalable digital solutions balancing UX and security.
• Use analytics and accessibility data to identify improvements.
• Establish technical standards and reusable patterns for a sustainable experience.
• Collaborate with IT, cybersecurity, communications and vendors.
• Evaluate emerging web technologies and AI for digital services.
• Provide technical guidance to staff and project teams.
