Job summary

Versova in Sioux Center, IA is seeking a Candler I to ensure only high-quality eggs are processed on the production line. You will monitor the line, remove poor-quality eggs and foreign materials, and support sanitary and safety standards in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities include meeting USDA requirements, communicating with supervisors and QC, and assisting with line clean-up. This role requires attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to work overtime as production demands.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing or processing environment is preferred.
• Ability to operate egg processing equipment or similar machinery.
• Basic math skills for counting and measuring.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and remove poor quality eggs from the production line.
• Ensure processed eggs meet USDA requirements.
• Remove eggshells, bloody eggs, dirty eggs, and rotten eggs from the flow of edible product.
• Identify and remove foreign materials from the product flow.
• Place dirty eggs onto flats for re-washing.
• Notify supervisor of excessive broken eggs or machine deficiencies.
• Assist with clean-up activities and removal of inedible product.
• Comply with USDA regulations, GMPs, SQF, safety programs, biosecurity policies, HACCP, and food defense programs.
• Communicate with plant staff and QC.
• Help train and assist other team members.
