Job summary

The Candler I at Versova in Corwith, Iowa, is responsible for ensuring only high-quality eggs are processed on the production line. You will monitor and remove eggs of poor quality, including dirty, cracked, or bloody eggs, and ensure compliance with USDA requirements.

In a fast-paced facility, you will work with team members to maintain production pace, perform clean-up duties, and follow GMP, HACCP, and biosecurity standards while communicating with supervisors and QC staff.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years in a manufacturing or processing environment.
• Ability to operate egg processing equipment.
• Basic math skills for counting and measuring.
• Follow written and verbal instructions.
• Hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Attention to detail and quality consciousness.
• Know safety procedures in a food processing environment.
• Work well in a team and meet production pace.
• Able to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and remove poor quality eggs from the production line.
• Ensure processed eggs meet USDA requirements.
• Remove eggshells, bloodied eggs, dirty eggs, and rotten eggs from edible product flow.
• Identify and remove foreign materials from the product flow.
• Place dirty eggs onto flats for re-washing.
• Notify plant manager/supervisor of excessive breakage or machine deficiencies.
• Assist with clean-up activities and removal of inedible product.
• Comply with USDA regulations, GMPs, SQF, Safety Programs, Biosecurity Policies, Plant Procedures, HACCP, and Food Defense Programs.
• Communicate with plant supervisor, QC, USDA, and plant staff.
• Help train and assist other team members as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
