Foster Farms is hiring for an egg handler role. The position involves sorting and packing eggs, maintaining cleanliness, and following safety protocols. You will lift, carry, and move loads while working in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

• Gather eggs and sort by size, cleanliness, shape, and defects.
• Empty trash and maintain cleanliness of work areas.
• Change dip pans daily and manage liquids as needed.
• Walk housing areas to collect eggs and ensure proper placement.
• Lift and move eggs from conveyor lines up to 13,600 daily.
• Clean water lines and perform routine lifting of up to 40 lbs.
• Transfer eggs to other farms and assist with barn duties.
• Operate high-pressure washer and help with barn sanitation.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Job Description

Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour

Job Duties

• Gather eggs which includes: 1) Sorting eggs for: a) Size; b) Clean or dirty; c) Miss-shaped; d) Chex or cracks; 2) Clean eggs as needed; 3) Stacking flats
• Empty trash
• Change dip pans daily - empty rectangular pan 1/2 full of liquid, replace liquid
• Walk floors and slats to find eggs & dead birds: 1) Walk houses 4-5 times daily; 2) Gather onto flats up to 13,600 eggs daily from conveyor belts
• Clean waters - lifting 40 lbs. to dump water, scrubbing up to 160 drinkers/day
• Transfer to other farms
• Clean up ranch between flocks - routine heavy lifting, operate high-pressure washer.
• Additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift & carry 50 pounds.
• Ability to walk 1.5 – 5 miles per day
• Able to step into & out of gathering pit numerous times each day (steep stairs).
• Able to bend over & pick up eggs from floor.
• Must be able to climb a 12-foot ladder.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
