Location Description

Michael Foods, Inc. is located in Klingerstown, Pennsylvania, known for their ice cream socials at Klingerstown Lutheran Parish, fishing rodeo, and fireman's parade.

Responsibilities
POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for complying with safety work rules at all times and reinforcing safety as a core value. Ensures all policies, procedures, and activities related to Food Safety & Quality are followed to reduce product and process variability. The egg dock receiving person ensures proper delivery, shipment, and customer service to maintain business expectations from a premier egg products company. This role involves loading/unloading shipments, logging, and timely disbursement, benefiting drivers, management, and coworkers.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensure a safe and healthy workplace for everyone.
  • Adhere to safety policies and incorporate safety and health in all tasks.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance at all times.
  • Confirm and log received items, materials, weights, and quantities.
  • Perform placement/removal from dock to plant location using power jacks.
  • Load/unload trailers as instructed by management.
  • Maintain sanitation and good housekeeping; follow GMPs for a clean, safe workplace.
  • Determine if products meet specifications and take corrective actions if needed.
  • Enter data into the computer accurately.
  • Maintain dock security.
  • Follow GMP and HACCP guidelines to maintain SQF Level 3 certification.
  • Report conditions affecting food safety, quality, or safety.
  • Maintain positive interactions with customers, clients, coworkers, and management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
  • Ability to interpret safety rules, instructions, and manuals.
  • Ability to write reports and communicate effectively.
  • Basic math skills and ability to interpret data and graphs.
  • Ability to follow instructions and handle problems.
  • Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) Certification.
  • Driver’s license.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS:
  • Ability to obtain PIT certification.
  • Good communication and basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work in a changing environment and learn sanitation, GMPs, and safety procedures.
  • Wearing proper PPE and operating specific equipment.
  • Experience with spreadsheets and word processing.
