Job summary

SOSi is seeking an Effects Planner to coordinate operations, analytics, assessments, and target development for subordinate commands, aligning priorities with national goals. The role requires TS/SCI clearance and the ability to lead cross-functional planning and staff key operation documents.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with ability to obtain CI Poly.
• Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Government, Intl Affairs or related.
• Or 12 years of military experience as a Planner.
• Minimum 10 years of combined work experience with minimum 5 years since 2020 as a Planner at the O-6+ level within USSOCOM Enterprise or Interagency equivalent.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional planning teams.
• Experience facilitating working groups to deconflict resources, timing, and objectives.
• Ability to identify key vulnerabilities and nodes within a target system.
• Skilled at translating complex operational problems into clear briefings and reports.

Responsibilities

• Rally cross-functional planning teams to orchestrate effects into a cohesive operational plan.
• Facilitate working groups to untangle resource conflicts, timing misalignments, and competing objectives.
• Dig into analysis to uncover key vulnerabilities and critical nodes within a target system.
• Develop Measures of Performance (MOPs) and Measures of Effectiveness (MOEs) that tell the real story of whether an operation is hitting its targets.
• Champion the operational-level target development process, nominating targets that support the campaign.
• Analyze ongoing operations and deliver formal assessments to leadership that cut through the noise.
• Translate national-level strategic guidance into operational reality with aligned plans.
• Refine and staff major planning documents such as CONPLANs and OPORDs.
• Be SME on published plans guiding staff through interpretation and intent.
• Prepare and deliver briefings to senior leaders highlighting proposed plans and synchronization.
