Job summary

North American Dental Group is seeking an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) in Pensacola, Florida, to support our dentist and clinical team in delivering high-quality patient care. The role involves assisting with restorative and preventive procedures, taking radiographs, and preparing rooms, instruments, and materials.

The ideal candidate will hold EFDA certification, radiography licensure, CPR, and have 1–5 years of experience.

Qualifications

• EFDA Certification required per state requirements.
• Radiography licensure for respective state requirements.
• 1-5 years of experience preferred.
• CPR Certification is required.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite.
• Knowledge of dental charting software and digital x-rays with the ability to learn new programs as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Perform expanded-function dental assisting duties within the scope of applicable state laws and regulations.
• Assist the dentist with restorative, preventive, and other clinical procedures.
• Prepare teeth, instruments, materials, and treatment rooms for procedures.
• Take radiographs, impressions, digital scans, and other diagnostic records as directed.
• Provide authorized preventive services such as sealants and fluoride treatments.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and patient records.
• Follow all OSHA, HIPAA, infection-control, sterilization, and safety standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked clinical environment.
• Educate patients regarding treatment procedures and appropriate post-operative care.
• Communicate effectively with the dentist and dental team to ensure efficient patient flow and excellent patient care.
• Maintain dental instruments, equipment, and clinical supplies.
• Maintain all required EFDA credentials, certifications, and continuing education.
