Job summary

Anderson Smiles Center, located in Ohio, seeks an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) to join a supportive, patient-focused practice. The role includes assisting dentists, performing expanded functions, radiography, and maintaining records in a team-driven environment.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year EFDA experience, strong communication, and proficiency with dental terminology. Open Dental experience is preferred; training is available for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year EFDA experience.
• Excellent communication and patient-facing skills.
• Self-motivated, punctual and a great team player.
• Open Dental experience preferred, willing to train the right candidate.
• Proficiency with dental terminology and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist dentist during treatment procedures.
• Perform expanded functions including restorative work, coronal polishing, and sealants.
• Prepare treatment rooms and instruments for patient visits.
• Provide chairside assistance and support to the dental team.
• Take and develop dental radiographs.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
• Ensure infection control protocols are followed.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care.
