Job summary

Coast Dental & Orthodontics in Ruskin, FL is seeking a Dental Assistant to support dentists with clinical procedures and patient care. This full-time role requires Expanded Duties Certification and Radiography Certification at hire or within 90 days, and the ability to maintain infection control standards.

The successful candidate will assist in back-office procedures, document patient histories and treatment plans, and help educate patients on dental health while ensuring compliance with HIPAA

Qualifications

• Active Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) certification.
• Florida: RDA license or CDA certificate obtained prior to May 2009 per state guidelines.
• Radiography licensure is required.
• Minimum of one year dental experience preferred.
• Excellent customer service and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a high-volume environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist dentist in clinical procedures and treatments with efficiency and care.
• Maintain and organize back-office equipment and supplies; ensure sterilization protocols.
• Review patient medical history, treatment plans and consent forms for accuracy.
• Educate patients on dental health and proposed treatments; explain insurance options clearly.
• Document and chart dental procedures during visits as instructed by the dentist.
• Welcome and assist patients from reception to treatment area; schedule appointments.
• Adhere to HIPAA, OSHA and all safety standards; maintain a clean, professional work environment.
