Job summary

Guardian Dentistry is seeking an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant in Drexel Hill, PA. The role supports dentists, prepares treatment rooms, takes X-rays, and assists with various procedures.

The ideal candidate has empathy, strong communication, and dexterity, with 1–2 years in EFDA and state EFDA certification plus radiology certification. Excellent teamwork and a self-motivated attitude are essential.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of Expanded Function Dental experience preferred.
• EFDA certification required by state guidelines.
• Current radiology certification in their state.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms, sterilize instru- ments, ensure equipment is ready.
• Assist dentists during procedures and pass instruments.
• Take X-rays and process/interpret images as needed.
• Take impressions and bite molds for submissions.
• Polish teeth, apply fluoride, and clean teeth.
• Update patient dental histories and schedule visits.
• Explain oral hygiene and post-procedure care to patients.
• Maintain records and assist with payments.
