Job summary

Coast Dental is seeking a qualified Expanded Functions Dental Assistant to support dentists in performing treatments, educating patients, and ensuring top-notch care. Candidates must have an EFDA certification and radiography certification on hire or within ninety days of starting.

The role includes assisting in clinical procedures, charting and documentation, maintaining infection control, and managing patient scheduling with a focus on HIPAA compliance and patient satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Active EFDA certification or eligible to obtain EFDA
• Radiography licensure required
• Minimum 1 year dental experience preferred
• Excellent customer service and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Assist dentist in clinical procedures and treatments
• Manage patient reception, scheduling, calls and confirmations
• Chart procedures accurately and maintain documentation
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality
• Maintain infection control, sterilization and safety practices according to OSHA standards
• Keep operatories stocked and equipment functioning; report issues to Office Manager
• Provide dental education and explain treatment plans to patients
