Job summary

Wyoming Smiles Center is seeking an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) to join a dedicated team in a welcoming practice. This role offers opportunities to perform expanded functions, assist the dentist, and contribute to high‑quality patient care with modern infection control standards.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of EFDA experience, strong communication, and proficiency with open dental terminology and procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year EFDA experience.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.
• Open Dental experience or willingness to train.
• Proficiency in dental assistant terminology and procedures.
• Ohio EFDA and X-ray certifications; CPR required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist during various treatment procedures.
• Perform expanded functions including restorative procedures, coronal polishing, and sealant placement.
• Prepare treatment rooms and instruments for patient visits.
• Provide chairside assistance and support to the dental team.
• Take and develop dental radiographs.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with infection control protocols.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques and post-operative care.
