Job description

This temporary position will be responsible for all hourly treatments, monitoring, and husbandry care. Responsible for triage and treatment of emergency cases. Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, animal handling, and restraint. Ensure compliance with all infectious disease protocols.

Position Information

Work Schedule: TBD, overnight and weekend shifts

Requirements and Preferences

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. At least one year of equine veterinary experience and ample large animal experience.
  2. At least one year experience working in a veterinary setting.
Department Required Skills
  • Extensive large animal handling experience.
  • Ability to work with or around sick animals, potentially hazardous materials, cleaning chemicals, gas anesthetics, zoonotic diseases, and unpleasant odors.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively at all times and maintain professionalism in emotionally charged/challenging situations.
Preferred Skills
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds frequently with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Accuracy in recording.
  • Works well with minimal supervision.
  • Prioritizes tasks appropriately according to importance and urgency.
