Job summary

McCormick & Company, Incorporated is seeking an Electrical Electronics Technician for the 3rd shift in South Bend, Indiana. You will diagnose, repair and test industrial equipment, including PLCs, HMIs, networks, and electrical field devices, while coordinating with outside contractors as required.

Requirements include 3–5 years of plant maintenance experience, PLC logic troubleshooting, reading electrical schematics, and proficiency with test equipment such as multimeters.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair and test industrial equipment including power service, motor starters, high/low voltage electrical systems, PLCs, controls, HMIs, networks (Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet, DH+), and electrical field devices.
• Use standard electrical test equipment to perform equipment testing.
• Update and clarify test procedures.
• Assist in training others to conduct tests properly.
• Perform preventive and general maintenance on production and facilities equipment.
• Complete work orders and document all tests.
• Troubleshoot to identify root causes and suggest improvements with cross-functional teams.
• Coordinate work with outside contractors as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Include diagnosing, repairing and testing industrial equipment including power service, motor starters, high/low voltage electrical systems PLC's controls, HMI's Networks (ethernet I/P, DeviceNet, DH+ etc.) and electrical field devices (photo eyes, proxes, encoders, limit switches etc.)
• Utilize standard electrical test equipment to perform equipment test.
• Update and clarify test procedures
• Helps train others to conduct these tests properly
• Performing preventive maintenance and general maintenance as required on both production equipment and facilities equipment,
• Completing assigned work orders and documenting all tests;
• Troubleshoot and identify root cause as well as to recommend improvements on a continuous basis with cross functional teams in a High Performance Organization environment
• Working with outside contractors on miscellaneous installations when needed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Three to Five years of plant maintenance experience
• Be able to troubleshoot existing PLC logic, read electrical schematics, and troubleshoot PLC/Solid State control instruments
• Proficient in the use of applications of test equipment such as multimeters
• Working knowledge of Windows
