Job summary

McCormick & Company, Incorporated, a global leader in flavor, is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician for the Atlanta plant. You will respond to electrical trouble calls on production equipment, diagnose, repair and test systems, and support preventive maintenance to keep operations running smoothly.

Under supervision, you will work with cross‑functional teams to identify root causes and implement improvements.

Qualifications

• Significant experience working in production/operations in a manufacturing plant.
• Experience leading multiple teams or departments with direct/indirect reports.
• Experience applying planning/organization to meet project goals in a TPM/lean environment.
• Experience in the food and/or pharmaceutical manufacturing industry preferred.
• FDA/GMP knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair and test industrial equipment including power service and motor starters.
• Maintain and test electrical systems and controls (PLC's, HMI's, networks).
• Update and clarify test procedures; train others to perform tests.
• Perform preventive and general maintenance on production and facilities equipment.
• Complete work orders and document tests with equipment like oscilloscope, DMM, Recorder, Meggar.
• Troubleshoot to identify root cause and suggest improvements with cross‑functional teams.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Under the general supervision of the Maintenance Team Manager, the incumbent will respond to electrical trouble calls on production/process equipment and utility breakdown. This will include diagnosing, repairing and testing industrial equipment including power service, motor starters, high/low voltage electrical systems PLC's controls, HMI's Networks (ethernet I/P, DeviceNet, DH+ etc.) and electrical field devices (photo eyes, proxes, encoders, limit switches etc.)

RESPONSIBILITIES

Include diagnosing, repairing and testing industrial equipment including power service, motor starters, high/low voltage electrical systems PLC's controls, HMI's Networks (ethernet I/P, DeviceNet, DH+ etc.) and electrical field devices (photo eyes, proxes, encoders, limit switches etc.)

Utilize standard electrical test equipment to perform equipment test using established procedures and write,

Update and clarify test procedures

Helps train others to conduct these tests properly

Performing preventive maintenance and general maintenance as required on both production equipment and facilities equipment,

Completing assigned work orders and documenting all tests; i.e., oscilloscope, DMM, Recorder, Meggar, etc,

Troubleshooting and identify root cause as well as to recommend improvements on a continuous basis with cross functional teams in a High Performance Organization environment

Working with outside contractors on miscellaneous installations when needed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Significant experience working and leading in production / operations roles in a manufacturing plant environment

Experience leading multiple teams and/or departments to include direct and indirect reports

Experience in achieving project goals and objectives by applying the discipline of planning, organizing, and managing resources to bring about successful project completion

Experience working in TPM or other lean manufacturing environment

Experience in the food and/or pharmaceutical manufacturing industry preferred.

FDA / GMP knowledge preferred.

Ability to be an influencer of change initiatives

Ability to understand implications of commercial strategies and to make operational changes to support organizational performance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience working in food manufacturing

Strong mechanical ability and understanding of packaging/processing equipment
