Job description

Job Summary:

PowerSecure is seeking qualified candidates for exciting new projects throughout the US. The Mechanical Field Supervisor will oversee Mechanical Project Installations, including Piping Replacements, Chillers, Boilers, Air Handlers, Pumps, VAV Boxes, etc., managing internal installers or technicians and subcontractors. Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma, GED, or Trade School certification.
  • Valid Driver’s license.
  • Proficiency in software such as Procore, MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • At least 8 years of experience in pipefitting/pipe fusion/mechanical trades and 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Knowledge of scheduling, project budgeting, materials coordination, and managing labor.
  • Experience with various pipe and fitment techniques and materials, including steel, copper, plastic, fiberglass, with diameters from ½” to 12” or more.
  • Experience in sheet metal ductwork fabrication and installation.
  • Electrical and controls installation experience is a plus.
  • Ability to pass background checks, drug tests, and meet site access requirements.
  • OSHA 30 training is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Extensive knowledge of pipefitting and mechanical skills within HVAC industry.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and submittals.
  • Skill in material takeoff, measurement, and ordering.
  • Understanding of project management, construction processes, scheduling, and budgeting.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Understanding of project accounting.
  • Leadership in safety standards and practices.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

The Mechanical Field Supervisor manages a crew of up to 8 HVAC installers, laborers, and subcontractors to complete projects safely and efficiently.

Essential Functions:

  • Coordinate installation schedules with project managers, customers, and subcontractors.
  • Develop weekly/monthly schedules for materials, equipment, and manpower.
  • Use and distribute Daily Reports.
  • Conduct daily safety briefings and delegate responsibilities.
  • Mentor and develop team members in technical and safety skills.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and ensure compliance with safety policies and regulations.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Physical ability to walk, climb, kneel, and perform other physical activities.
  • Work environment may include exposure to weather, noise, electrical hazards, chemicals, heights, and other hazards.
