A healthcare organization in Kingsport, Tennessee, is seeking an EEG Technologist to perform diagnostic testing on patients and assist in monitoring. Candidates should have a minimum of five years of EEG experience and valid EEG certification. Responsibilities include EEG setup, patient care, and assisting with intra-operative monitoring. The role requires valid AHA BLS certification.
SCOPE OF POSITION
The EEG Technologist, Registered has the responsibility for performing diagnostic testing on patients which generates reports for physician interpretations. The Tech will measure by means of an electroencephalograph (EEG) impulse frequencies and differences in electrical potential between various areas of the brain, to obtain data for use in the diagnosis of brain disorders. The Tech shall prepare the patient's head for electrode placement, perform the EEG, clean patient's head, and prepare room for next patient. This individual will perform Evoked Potentials, 24 hour EEG, and special procedure EEG including ECI recordings. The Tech shall perform portable EEG's, intra-operative surgical monitoring as requested, routine maintenance on equipment and long-term monitoring. The Tech will be able to retrieve old EEG traces as requested for reference. The Tech will advise and assist the Epilepsy Unit's monitoring technicians. The Tech will sort and pack EEG for storage, as well as take pertinent patient history on outpatients and inpatients. The Tech will correlate and integrate aspects of care for all ages including neonate, infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Graduate of an Electroneurodiagnostic (EEG) technology program accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation. Minimum five years experience in EEG, evoked potentials and intra-operative monitoring.
