Job summary

Jobtailor in Gainesville, FL seeks a driven Electroneurodiagnostic (END) technologist to perform neurophysiology studies, set up tests, apply electrodes and ensure patient safety during clinically significant events. You will document in patient records and educate patients about exams.

Responsibilities include monitoring cEEG remotely, coordinating with clinical staff, troubleshooting basic issues, stocking supplies, and maintaining the EEG lab within established protocols.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • EEG Certification required at hire or within two years.
  • BCLS certification current and maintained.
  • Board registry eligible preferred.
  • CAAHEP accredited Electroneurodiagnostic Program preferred.
  • ABRET approved Neurodiagnostic Training program preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs neurophysiology studies at a technical level.
  • Test set-up, electrode application, and maintaining patient safety during clinically significant events.
  • Performs procedures with independent judgment to apply neurophysiology techniques for neurological diagnosis.
  • Assumes responsibility for designated areas of procedures required.
  • Produces quality studies consistently within established protocols.
  • Maintain electroneurodiagnostic unit and perform basic/intermediate troubleshooting.
  • Provide patient education pertinent to exam and document in patient record.
  • Monitor patients undergoing cEEG recording for safety via remote video monitoring.
  • Communicate with patients and clinical staff to obtain information when events occur.
  • Stock supplies and prepare patient rooms for EEG procedures.

Job description

• Performs neurophysiology studies at a technical level
• Test set-up, electrode application, and maintaining patient safety during clinically significant events
• Performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment with ingenuity and initiative to apply neurophysiology techniques for neurological diagnosis
• Assumes responsibility for designated areas of procedures required
• Produces quality studies consistently within established protocols
• Maintain electroneurodiagnostic unit during study, identifies and performs basic/intermediate technical troubleshooting
• Provide patient education pertinent to exam being performed and document in patient record
• Continually monitors patients undergoing cEEG recording for safety via remote video monitoring
• Communicates with patients and clinical staff to obtain information when events occur
• Stocks supplies and prepares patient rooms for EEG procedures

Requirements
  • Current and Maintain BCLS
  • EEG Certification required at time of hire or within two years
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Preferred Licensure or other certifications: Board registry eligible preferred
  • Preferred Educational Requirements: Enrollment or completion of a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited Electroneurodiagnostic Program, ABRET approved Neurodiagnostic Training program or an Associate’s Degree or higher
  • Preferred Experience: At least 6 (six) months of direct patient care experience
  • One Year of supervised training/clinical experience in a lab setting preferred
  • Experience with multiple modalities desired: EEG Electroencephalography, EP – Evoked Potentials, IOM – Intraoperative Monitoring, LTM – Long Term Monitoring and NCS – Nerve Conduction Studies preferred
