Job summary

Nationwide Children's Hospital is seeking an Electroneurodiagnostic Technician to perform EEG procedures, monitor patients, and contribute to accurate documentation. The role includes technical troubleshooting, staff mentorship, and preparation of testing environments in a clinical setting.

Applicants should have an associate degree (or equivalent), and a CAAHEP-accredited END program is preferred. Three years of EEG experience in a patient care environment is required, with registered END

Qualifications

  • Effective computer operations and technology skills.

Responsibilities

  • Completes technical EEG reports and maintains accurate medical records and documentation.
  • Identifies and performs basic and intermediate technical troubleshooting and artifact identification and elimination.
  • Monitors patients and maintains safety during procedures; communicates with staff.
  • Mentors other team members, providing direct and indirect supervision.
  • Performs a limited variety of investigational procedures on patients with possible neurologic injury and disease.
  • Stocks and maintains supplies and equipment; prepares patient rooms for EEG procedures; performs administrative tasks.
  • Prepares patients for testing, communicates procedure information, answers questions, and collects information for test interpretation.

Performs electroneurodiagnostic procedures on patients with suspected neurologic injury or disease and according to facility policies and procedures.

Job Description:
Essential Functions:
  • Completes technical EEG reports and maintains accurate medical records and documentation.
  • Identifies and performs basic and intermediate technical troubleshooting and artifact identification and elimination. Provides findings, results, and a descriptive analysis according to facility policy and procedures.
  • Monitors patients and maintains safety during procedures. Communicates to other patient care support staff.
  • Participates in tutoring, demonstrating, and mentoring other team members, providing direct and indirect technical supervision.
  • Performs a limited variety of investigational procedures on patients with possible neurologic injury and disease according to established policies and procedures.
  • Stocks and maintains supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate levels and proper functioning. Prepares patient rooms for EEG procedures and performs various administrative functions.
  • Prepares patients for testing, communicating procedure information and answering questions, and ensures accurate electrode application. Collects information pertinent to the interpretation of the test results.
Education Requirement:
  • Associate’s Degree, or equivalent experience, required.
  • Graduation from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited Electroneurodiagnostic (END) Program, preferred.
Certifications:
  • Registered by the American Board of Registered Electroneurodiagnostic Technologists, required.
  • R EEG T certification, Required
  • BLS certification, required.
Skills:

Effective computer operations and technology skills.

Experience:

Three years of experience in the performance of EEG procedures in a patient care environment, required.
