Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a part-time EEG technician in Illinois to perform routine, video, and portable EEGs and evoked potentials. The role supports physicians with EMGs/NCV and requires knowledge of calibration, montages, and documentation.

You will handle log books, records, and instrument maintenance, while collaborating on research with neurology staff. Training includes EEG/EP and ABRET certification, with emphasis on patient safety.

Qualifications

• High school education
• 6 months -1 year formal EEG/EP training and 3-4 years EEG/EP experience
• Registered in electroencephalography (ABRET or equivalent)

Responsibilities

• Perform routine, video, and portable EEG and evoked potential recordings.
• Assist physicians with EMGs/NCV.
• Perform calibrations and montages for quality recordings.
• Prepare and burn CDs for storage of EEGs.
• Maintain departmental documentation and logs.
• Order supplies and manage EEG lab/equipment.
• Collaborate on research projects with staff and neurologists.
• Promote patient safety and participate in safety initiatives.
