Job summary

Waterbury Hospital is seeking an EEG Technician to perform standard and complex EEG recordings across pediatric to geriatric patients, following age-specific requirements. The role includes recognizing abnormal tracings and documenting results in the Health Information System.

As part of the team, you will elicit patient history, schedule and coordinate tests, and ensure proper handling of biosafety. Prior EEG training or experience under a neurologist is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• 1-2 years experience in a clinical or healthcare setting or experience in clinical EEG training under the supervision of a neurologist.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment including exposure to all patient elements and blood borne pathogens.

Responsibilities

• Perform standard and complex EEG recordings on pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric populations and recognize abnormal tracings.
• Elicit historical or physical information needed to perform EEG tests and enter EEG charges into the Health Information System.
• Enter EEG results and maintain accurate records in the Health Information System.
