Job summary

The EEG Tech at TriStar Summit Medical Center (HCA Healthcare) in Nashville prepares patients and performs EEGs, ambulatory EEGs, BAERs, VEP and related tests under physicians’ direction.

You will operate EEG, EMG and Evoked Potential equipment, maintain patient files and reconcile charges, delivering compassionate, holistic care while upholding patient rights.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• BCLS or CPR must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• ABRET credentials (REEGT) preferred.
• EEG or Polysomnography experience required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients and perform EEGs, Ambulatory EEGs, BAERs, VEP and related tests.
• Operate EEG, EMG and Evoked Potential equipment.
• Maintain patient files and reconcile procedure and supply charges.
• Provide compassionate, holistic care while supporting patient rights and dignity.

3-12 hr. shifts

7am-7pm, plus weekend rotation every 3 weeks

Job Summary and Qualifications

The EEG Tech functions as a resource person to physicians and their staff, family members and hospital staff. Prepare patients and performs Electroencephalograms, Ambulatory EEGs, BAERs, VEP and other tests within their scope of practice.

What you will do in this role:

• You will demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care for patient populations served in his/her department.


• You will deliver compassionate, holistic care, while supporting the rights and dignity of all patients


• You will demonstrate knowledge of equipment and procedures for dept.


• You will operate EEG, EMG and Evoked Potential equipment


• You will maintain patient files


• You will reconcile procedure and supply charges

What qualifications you will need:

• High School diploma/GED


• Basic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor, or CPR must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date


• National credentials by the ABRET for REEGT preferred


• EEG or Polysomnography experience required
