Job summary

Chandler Regional Medical Center is seeking an EEG Technician to perform diagnostic EEG, seizure monitoring, and evoked potential recordings under physician orders. You will prepare patients, maintain a safe testing environment, execute studies and document results under supervision.

The role requires knowledge of EEG equipment, ongoing skills enhancement, and participation in quality assurance to ensure diagnostic accuracy and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform basic neurology procedures, including EEG.
• Explain purpose and procedure to patient/family before and during procedures.
• Practice thorough patient assessment and complete documentation and charting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients and a safe testing environment for EEG, seizure monitoring and evoked potentials.
• Record, observe and document results under physician supervision.
• Monitor equipment and participate in quality assurance programs to uphold diagnostic accuracy and patient safety.
• Notify neurologist of abnormal results requiring attention.
• Assist with related procedures as needed (EKG, Stress Testing, etc.).

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As an EEG Technician, you will perform diagnostic Electroencephalography, seizure monitoring, and evoked potential recordings of the brain or central nervous system per physician orders and established protocols.

Every day you will prepare patients, ensure a safe testing environment, execute studies, observe and document results, and monitor equipment, all under direct healthcare provider supervision.

To be successful, you will possess thorough knowledge of EEG equipment, continuously update your skills, and actively participate in quality assurance programs to uphold diagnostic accuracy and patient safety.

• Must be able to perform basic neurology procedures; EEG.
• Explains purpose and procedure to patient and/or family prior to and during procedure(s).
• Critical thinking skills are evident in providing patient care as demonstrated through direct observation and feedback. Assesses critical care patients and monitors status. Documentation is completed appropriately.
• Notifies neurologist of any abnormal results that may need immediate attention.
• Documents complete care of patient. Performs thorough patient assessment and documents completely, completes necessary forms for tests and complete all appropriate charting on treatment flow sheets and charges for procedures.
• Assists with Cardiology procedures (EKG, Stress Testing, Muse Editing, etc.) as required.

Job Requirements

Required

• High School GED General Studies or equivalent combination of education and experience or
• High School Graduate General Studies or equivalent combination of education and experience
• American Heart Association
  • Basic Life Support - BLS

Preferred

• Associates Other and Minimum of 3 years experience performing EEG's
• 3 years experience performing pediatric EEGs
• 3 years experience performing ambulatory EEGs
