Job Summary:

The EEG Monitor Technician provides technical support for the acquisition and interpretation of cardiac tracings to diagnose or rule out cardiac disease in an inpatient setting, using wired or wireless monitoring equipment. May oversee pulse oximetry monitoring.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Monitor video feeds of patients in the EMU to detect emergencies or unusual activity.
  • Maintain logs of patient activity and incidents.
  • Communicate any concerns or emergencies to medical staff promptly.
  • Ensure monitoring equipment functions correctly and report issues.
  • Follow hospital policies to ensure safety and confidentiality.
  • Assist with additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Healthcare experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and focus.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with monitoring equipment.
Schedule:

Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8 am to 4 pm

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Monitor heart rhythm via telemetry for up to 60 patients.
  • Understand cardiac rhythms and measurements.
  • Respond within 1 minute and escalate as needed.
  • Interpret rhythm strips and document findings.
  • Maintain professional communication and logs.
Technical Capabilities:
  • Medical terminology and documentation (Novice)
  • Data interpretation (Novice)
  • Cardiac monitoring (Novice)
  • Medical devices (Fundamental Awareness)
Position Qualifications:

Experience: Less than 1 year

Education: High School Diploma or GED
