Job summary

Insight Global in Long Beach, CA seeks an experienced automotive electrical technician to build and repair LV wiring harnesses, interpret schematics, and support prototype EV projects. You will work with Jira for defects, mentor technicians, and contribute to process documentation, calibration, and vehicle testing.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in automotive electrical, prototype, or manufacturing.
• LV harness fabrication and troubleshooting experience.
• Ability to read schematics and technical docs.
• Experience with prototype EVs, ADAS, or module diagnostics.
• Familiarity with CATIA/3DX and Jira.
• Experience mentoring technicians.

Responsibilities

• Perform crimping, depinning, soldering, connector repair, and custom harness fabrication.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and CAD data.
• Diagnose vehicle electrical issues using multimeters and diagnostic software.
• Support module flashing, ADAS and camera calibration, vehicle alignments, and functional testing.
• Install electrical components and support prototype retrofits and vehicle repairs.
• Document defects, root causes, and corrective actions in Jira.
• Partner with engineering teams during prototype builds and production launches.
• Create work instructions and train technicians on new processes.

Skills and Requirements

Qualifications

• 3+ years of automotive electrical, prototype, or manufacturing experience.
• Strong experience with LV harness fabrication and electrical troubleshooting.
• Ability to interpret schematics and technical documentation.
• Experience with prototype vehicles, EV systems, ADAS, or module diagnostics.
• Familiarity with CATIA/3DX, Jira, and precision measurement tools preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and communication skills. Experience with firmware diagnostics, module flashing, vehicle calibration, or end-of-line testing.
• Experience using Jira or a similar system for defect tracking and root-cause documentation.
• Experience supporting vehicle retrofits, engineering changes, quality containment, and service trials.
• Familiarity with IPC-620 wiring and harness workmanship standards.
• Experience creating standard work instructions, build books, visual aids, or technical reports.
• Previous leadership, training, or technician-mentoring experience.
