Job summary

VinFast Irvine-based engineering team seeks an EE Commissioning Lead Engineer to manage software updating, configuration management and verification for test vehicles. You will ensure the software baseline is maintained before testing and coordinate with engineering groups to support CTF, validation and ADAS activities.

You will work hands-on with vehicles, diagnostic tools, flashing systems and vehicle networks, ensuring accurate records and smooth software readiness for critical engineering

Qualifications

  • Bachelor-level technical degree or equivalent automotive experience.
  • Hands-on experience with automotive diagnostics, ECU programming, or vehicle software updates.
  • Understanding modern vehicle electrical architecture and ECU-based systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform software updates, flashing, reprogramming and configuration on VinFast test vehicles.
  • Update ECUs/ECMs using approved VinFast diagnostic tools and verify configurations.
  • Conduct OTA and workshop-based software updates per engineering requirements.
  • Prepare vehicles with required software baseline for CTF, validation, and ADAS testing.
  • Verify software versions and vehicle configurations before and after updates.
  • Maintain records of software versions, update history and issues.
  • Coordinate with CTF, ADAS, InR and R&D teams for release readiness.
  • Support diagnostic activities and troubleshoot update failures.

PositionSummary
  • EECommissioning Lead Engineer is responsible for software updating, configurationmanagement, verification and software readiness VinFast engineering and testvehicles.
  • This positionsupports CTF, vehicle validation, quality investigation, ADAS, InR and otherengineering activities by ensuring that test vehicles are maintained requiredsoftware baseline and configuration before testing.
  • Role requireshands-on work with vehicles, engineering diagnostic tools, softwareflashing/update systems, vehicle networks and internal engineering processes.
Key responsibilities
  • Performsoftware updates, flashing, reprogramming and configuration VinFastengineering and test vehicles
  • Updatevehicle ECUs/ECMs and other electronic control modules using approvedVinFast engineering and diagnostic tools
  • Performvehicle OTA and workshop-based software updates according engineeringrequirements
  • Preparevehicles with required software baseline before CTF, validation, ADAS andengineering testing
  • Verifysoftware versions and vehicle configuration before and after softwareupdates
  • Confirmsuccessful installation and correct operation updated software
  • Performpost-update vehicle health checks and basic functional verification
  • Identifyand troubleshoot software update failures, communication errors, ECUprogramming issues and configuration mismatches

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering,Electronics, Computer Engineering or related technical field; equivalentrelevant automotive experience may be considered
  • Hands-onexperience with automotive diagnostics, ECU programming, vehicle softwareupdates or vehicle electrical/electronic systems
  • Understandingmodern vehicle electronic architecture and ECU-based systems
  • Basicknowledge automotive communication networks such as CAN etc
  • Experienceusing automotive diagnostic or engineering tools
  • Abilityto read and understand DTCs, diagnostic reports, ECU information andsoftware version data
  • Strongcomputer skills and ability to work with engineering software andWindows/Linux-based diagnostic applications
  • Abilityto follow technical procedures accurately and maintain detailed records
  • Strongtroubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Abilityto work independently and manage software updates across multiple vehicles
  • Goodwritten and verbal communication skills in English
  • ValidU.S. driver's license and ability to safely operate test vehicles
  • Readinessfor business trips

  • Experienceworking with electric vehicles (EV)
