Job summary

Sonnet Montessori in Minnesota is seeking an Educator’s Aide to support a nurturing classroom. You will assist in implementing age-appropriate activities, supervise children, and help maintain a safe environment with positive behavior guidance.

You will also engage families and share daily updates via the school's platform. Eligible candidates should meet DHS Teacher’s Aide requirements, have strong communication and organizational skills, and be willing to obtain CPR/First Aid certification

Qualifications

  • Must meet Minnesota DHS Teacher’s Aide qualification requirements.
  • Willing to undergo background checks and state licensing requirements.
  • Must possess CPR/First Aid certification or obtain within 30 days.
  • Experience with young children preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide active supervision to ensure children's safety and engagement in all classroom and outdoor activities.
  • Assist Lead Educator in implementing play-based, age-appropriate activities and support development.
  • Help maintain a clean, organized classroom and support positive behavior guidance.
  • Support family communication during drop-off/pick-up and via the school's platform.

Working collaboratively and flexibly, Educator’s Aides play a vital role in fostering social-emotional growth, encouraging curiosity, and supporting consistent daily routines. What You’ll Do:
Support Curriculum Implementation:
  • Assist the Lead Educator in implementing play-based, age-appropriate lesson plans and activities that support children’s physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development, aligned with Minnesota’s early learning standards.
  • Help maintain a positive classroom culture that fosters a sense of belonging, safety, and curiosity.
Child Supervision and Interaction:
  • Provide active supervision to ensure children's safety and engagement in all classroom and outdoor activities.
  • Assist in observing and recording developmental milestones under the guidance of the Lead Educator.
Classroom Management Support:
  • Assist in maintaining an organized, clean, and safe classroom environment.
  • Support positive behavior guidance strategies.
Family Communication:
  • Greet families and support positive daily interactions during drop-off and pick-up times, under the direction of the Lead Educator and Director.
  • Help provide updates using the school's communication platform regarding children’s daily activities, meals, rest, and learning experiences.
What You’ll Need:
  • Must meet the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) Teacher’s Aide qualification requirements.
  • Previous experience working with young children in a childcare setting is preferred, but not required.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, which may include - standing or sitting for extended periods of time. Lifting and carrying young children and classroom materials - up to 65lbs. Bending, stooping, and kneeling to interact with children at their level. Ability to respond quickly to emergencies or situations requiring physical intervention.
  • Willingness to undergo background checks and meet state licensing requirements for working in a childcare setting.
  • Must possess a valid CPR/First Aid certification, or willing to obtain within 30 days of employment.

The starting pay range for this position is $13 to $15 an hour and is applicable for candidates who will be working in the following location[s] Minnesota. This range is subject to adjustment for other geographic work locations. In addition to geographic location, Sonnet Montessori considers education, experience, internal equity, market demands, and other qualifying criteria to determine starting wages.
