Yellow Brick Road Early Childhood Development Center is seeking an Educator’s Aide to support teachers in creating a warm, inclusive learning space where children thrive. You will assist with lesson plans, supervise activities, and help maintain a safe, organized classroom.

The role emphasizes collaboration with families, emphasis on social-emotional growth, and adherence to state licensing requirements. Monday–Friday schedule and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Must meet Minnesota DHS Teacher’s Aide qualification requirements.
• Previous experience with young children is preferred but not required.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Lead Educator with implementing play-based, age-appropriate lesson plans.
• Maintain a positive classroom culture focused on belonging, safety, and curiosity.
• Provide active supervision of children during classroom and outdoor activities.
• Observe and record developmental milestones under Lead Teacher guidance.
• Maintain an organized, clean, and safe classroom environment.
• Support positive behavior guidance strategies.
• Greet families and support positive daily interactions at drop-off/pick-up.
• Provide updates on daily activities using the center’s communication platform.

The purpose of the Educator's Aide is to support the other Educators in providing a nurturing, positive, and engaging learning environment where young children can thrive and develop foundational skills for lifelong success. What You’ll Do:

Support Curriculum Implementation:

• Assist the Lead Educator in implementing play-based, age-appropriate lesson plans and activities that support children’s physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development, aligned with Minnesota’s early learning standards.
• Help maintain a positive classroom culture that fosters a sense of belonging, safety, and curiosity.

Child Supervision and Interaction:

• Provide active supervision to ensure children's safety and engagement in all classroom and outdoor activities.
• Assist in observing and recording developmental milestones under the guidance of the Lead Teacher.

Classroom Management Support:

• Assist in maintaining an organized, clean, and safe classroom environment.
• Support positive behavior guidance strategies.

Family Communication:

• Greet families and support positive daily interactions during drop-off and pick-up times, under the direction of the Lead Teacher and Director.
• Help provide updates using the center’s communication platform regarding children’s daily activities, meals, rest, and learning experiences.

What You’ll Need:

• Must meet the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) Teacher’s Aide qualification requirements.
• Previous experience working with young children in a childcare setting is preferred, but not required.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, which may include - standing or sitting for extended periods of time. Lifting and carrying young children and classroom materials - up to 65lbs. Bending, stooping, and kneeling to interact with children at their level. Ability to respond quickly to emergencies or situations requiring physical intervention.
• Willingness to undergo background checks and meet state licensing requirements for working in a childcare setting.
• Must possess a valid CPR/First Aid certification, or willing to obtain within 30 days of employment.

The starting pay range for this position is $14 to $17 an hour and is applicable for candidates who will be working in the following location[s] Minnesota. This range is subject to adjustment for other geographic work locations. In addition to geographic location, Yellow Brick Road considers education, experience, internal equity, market demands, and other qualifying criteria to determine starting wages.
