Job summary

Charlotte Chess Center (CCC) seeks an Educator Development Specialist to strengthen the instructional skills of our chess coaches working in school enrichment programs. This part-time role focuses on training, coaching, observation, and resources to improve classroom management, student engagement, and behavior support in K-5 settings.

Youll translate educational theory into practical techniques, develop coaching tools, and collaborate with CCC leadership to align training with program goals.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of full-time classroom teaching or instructional coaching.
• Experience managing groups of children in structured learning environments.
• Strong classroom-management principles and behavior strategies.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical instruction on classroom management and instructional excellence.
• Observe CCC coaches and deliver targeted feedback and progress notes.
• Develop training curricula and coaching resources for coaches.
