Job summary

District IT Dept seeks an IT Specialist to support instructional technology in schools. The role involves planning, coordinating and implementing technology applications to enhance student learning and educator effectiveness.

The candidate will troubleshoot hardware/software, maintain inventory, and collaborate with district staff across campuses to ensure reliable tech resources and training.

Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral forms with all levels of management.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships inside and outside the district.
  • Organize special programs for assigned campus.
  • Use computer software, databases, spreadsheets and word processing tools.
  • Analyze data
  • Interview techniques, public speaking and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Cooperate with the District staff to improve education through instructional technology.
  • Assist in planning, coordinating and implementing instructional technology applications.
  • Provide ongoing in-service to teachers, administrators and paraprofessionals in the use of instructional technology.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software to identify computer malfunctions.
  • Maintain technology inventory records and paperwork.
  • Coordinate efforts to assist schools in selection, acquisition, use and evaluation of hardware and software.
  • Establish and maintain technology resources appropriate for classroom use.
  • Attend meetings/workshops for sharing and information gathering.
