Position Overview: As an Educational Technician III, you will enhance the learning environment by supporting classroom teachers in achieving educational goals.

Qualifications: Passion for supporting students and teachers, meeting Maine Educational Technician III requirements, and preferred coursework in education or related fields.

Reports To: Classroom teachers

Responsibilities
  1. Leadership
  • Exhibit strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills with a calm, kind, warm, and sincere demeanor.
  • Assist in preparing and implementing school-wide activities.
  • Maintain high ethical standards and confidentiality.
  • Participate in district-provided in-service training and staff meetings.
  • Team Member
    • Work collaboratively as part of a team.
    • Assist with building duties such as recess, lunch, bus duty, etc.
    • Prepare instructional materials collaboratively with teachers.
    • Support students' personal, safety, and well-being needs.
    • Serve as a primary resource for substitute teachers and carry out behavioral programs in the teacher's absence.
    • Assist with clerical tasks for principal and office staff.
  • Student-Centered
    • Show understanding and willingness to learn about students with special needs.
    • Be sensitive to students, parents, and staff needs.
    • Work with students individually and in small groups to implement curriculum and assessments.
    • Supervise students during drills, assemblies, and field trips.
    • Assist students during lunch, snack, and cleanup routines.
    • Inform teachers of any concerns regarding individual students.
