Salary for a trainee may be set lower than the classification salary range and recruitment range that is listed in the posting. The North Carolina Forest Service provides forest protection, emergency response, resource management, and environmental education across 100 counties in North Carolina.
Work hours are typically 8-5 M-F, with extended hours during fire danger periods and emergencies. Overnight travel may be required.
Duty Station: 2256 Old US 70 West, Clayton, NC
This position requires successful completion of Ranger Training. Official uniform and a State vehicle are provided.
Management preference for experience in environmental education.
Minimum Education and Experience: An associate’s degree in forest management or related field, or high school diploma/GED with two years of related experience, or equivalent training and experience.
Must possess a valid North Carolina driver’s license within 90 days of hire.
