Job summary

Sunbelt Staffing is seeking an ASL Language Facilitator to support access to instruction for deaf or hard-of-hearing students in a Michigan school. This full-time, onsite contract role centers on language facilitation and collaboration with teachers and staff.

You will collaborate with classroom teams, monitor comprehension, introduce and explain vocabulary, reinforce routines, and help students advocate for themselves, with comprehensive benefits included.

Qualifications

• Current and valid American Sign Language license.
• Experience as a school-based ASL interpreter or ASL teacher preferred.
• Knowledge of ASL facilitation best practices in educational settings.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to foster positive relationships with students and staff.

• Reinforce classroom routines and contribute to a positive learning environment
• Provide assistance to teachers and staff when possible, while maintaining your focus on ASL language support

Desired Qualifications:

• Current and valid American Sign Language License (as required by state regulations)
• Experience as a school-based sign language interpreter or teacher of American Sign Language is preferred
• Knowledge of best practices in ASL language facilitation and understanding of educational environments
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to foster positive relationships with students and staff alike
