Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a publication designer to layout and design educational materials, including medical and scientific books, magazines, and online works. You will create accessible deliverables and digital ePub outputs while coordinating across disciplines.

The role requires mastery of Adobe InDesign and Creative Cloud, with additional strengths in EPub3 creation, HTML/XML knowledge, and script-based task automation.

Qualifications

• Experience in publications is required.
• Mastery of Adobe InDesign.
• Exceptional skills in Adobe Creative Cloud applications, especially InDesign.
• Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects and other CC applications a plus.
• Knowledge of HTML or XML helpful.
• Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint proficiency.
• Task automation through scripts is a plus.
• ePub3 creation and accessibility standards knowledge a plus.

Responsibilities

• Layout deliverables for educational materials (medical, scientific, trade books, magazines, online).
• Design and compose pages; revise illustrations.
• Create accessible deliverables and digital ePub outputs.
• Work across multiple disciplines and project types; manage multiple projects to deadlines.
• Problem-solve and contribute to learning and education.
