While much has changed over the past century, the need for flexible, high-quality precollege programs has only grown.
As part of the Office of the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education, the Office of School Partnerships and Precollege Programs continues this tradition with a variety of programs designed to meet the needs of modern students. The Educational Programs Coordinator plays a key role in the Office of School Partnerships and Precollege Programs by coordinating multiple educational resources to support partners and schools effectively.
Job Summary
Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Supports the implementation of the First Year Seminar for Indiana University Bloomington (IUB) undergraduate students including contacting program partners and scheduling meetings; course coordination and scheduling; organization of faculty recruitment, tracking, and payment; and support for program evaluation and reporting
- Provides administrative support for Transition to College Programming
- Serves as the 1st point of contact for the Transition to College House
- Manages phone and email
- Manages program application processes in SIS, AdRx, CART, etc., and provides regular enrollment summaries
- Collaborates with marketing and printing services on marketing campaigns and promotional materials (tri-fold, welcome packet, etc.)
- Plans and manages event execution (reservations, scheduling vendors, catering, etc.)
- Handles purchasing and financial processing (purchase orders, P-card, and internal billing)
- Serves as House Manager, overseeing key log, tutoring and wellness spaces, and maintenance requests
- Works closely with the Director and Assistant Director to prioritize weekly goals for program management and execution
- Communicates precollege resources to partners by providing information about available precollege resources including descriptions and potential applications as articulated by the program directors
- Handles organizational and administrative tasks such as end of Transition to College Summer Program (TCSP) program surveys and outcome reports, and periodic scheduling of staff conference registrations and associate travel scheduling
- Provides in-person support to students during Transition to College Programming
- Welcomes students in the Transition to College House
- Connects students to campus and community resources
- Serves as a liaison between students and advising/tutors/housing to support students' transition to campus
- Assists when overseeing events
- Works with the Director to handle emergency situations to support student safety and wellbeing
General Responsibilities
- Provides administrative support for student testing services, instructional consulting, placement of student teachers and/or teaching assistants, classroom materials, course administration, and/or a variety of other educational support services
- Trains and serves as an informational resource for student teachers in terms of pedagogical practice, classroom management, and federal regulations like FERPA and Title IX
- Provides information to key stakeholders including students, faculty, and staff; documents procedures and participates in the development of relevant procedures
- Maintains relationships between department and other academic units. Maintains and updates contacts lists as appropriate
- Acts as a liaison for faculty, staff, and students, responding to and resolving educational resources issues as needed
- May work with representatives of student groups to encourage participation in services offered
- May provide training or guidance to student or temporary staff and perform occasional duties in support of other functions or business needs

EDUCATION
Required- High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED)

Working Conditions / DemandsThis role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus.
