Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with endorsement in the grade/subject taught and a Tennessee certificate.
  • Must be highly qualified.
  • Proof of education, training, and/or experience is required.
  • Degree Equivalency Formula: Bachelor’s Degree = 4 years plus required years of experience; Master’s Degree = 2 years plus required years of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Creates an educational environment conducive to learning and prepares instructional materials.
  • Assesses student progress and provides written and oral progress reports to parents/administrators.
  • Plans interventions and prepares lessons to meet individual student needs within state requirements.
  • Confers with parents, administrators, specialists, and staff to develop educational programs for students.
  • Motivates students and provides ongoing assessment and feedback.
  • Maintains accurate records as required by law and district regulations.
  • Uses screening data to determine interventions and results.

Education

Bachelor’s degree with endorsement in grade/subject and Tennessee certificate
Master’s degree (as alternative when required)
