Job summary

Young World Physical Education in Aiken, SC is seeking a full-time Educational Interpreter responsible for interpreting communication for students who are deaf and hard of hearing. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma and current national certification or EIPA rating of 3.5 or higher. This role includes tutoring and participation in IEP meetings while providing continuity of instruction to students. Salary is $31.19 per hour with 181 days of employment in a school year.

Qualifications

• Evidence of a high school diploma.
• Documentation of current national certification or an Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) rating of 3.5 or higher is required.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret professional journals, technical procedures and instructional manuals.

Responsibilities

• Provide interpreting services between students who are deaf and/or hard of hearing and other individuals.
• Participate as part of the instructional team; interprets directions and assists in providing continuity of instruction.
• Facilitate appropriate social interaction with peers.
