Antioch Unified School District in Antioch, CA seeks a part-time interpreter for deaf and hard-of-hearing students. Under the supervision of a certificated teacher, you will provide interpreting, translating and tutoring services to individuals or small groups to reinforce instruction.
Qualifications include RID certification and ESSA compliance, with a 6-hour-per-year role across 10 months (180 school days). Recruitment is ongoing until filled.
BASIC FUNCTION: Under the direction of the Principal, assist a certificated teacher in reinforcing instruction to individual or small groups of deaf and hard of hearing students in a classroom or other learning environment by performing interpreting, translating and tutorial services.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: REQUIREMENT: Certified with Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) or equivalent.
EVERY STUDENT SUCCEEDS ACT (ESSA) FEDERAL REQUIREMENT: Degree or completion of 48 semester units from an accredited college or university or district assessment/county certificate showing compliance with ESSA are required. PROOF IS REQUIRED.
EXAMINATION: The selection process will consist of competitive application screening for completeness, qualifications, and experience. Application evaluation (weighted 10%) and an oral interview exam (weighted 90%) will be conducted. A passing score must be achieved on each portion to be placed on the eligibility list. Final interviews for specific vacancies will be scheduled from the approved eligibility list.
