Job summary

Pediatric Developmental Services (PDS) is hiring a full-time Educational Interpreter to support Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing students in local schools. The role involves interpreting classroom instruction, meetings, and events, ensuring accurate, neutral communication and active student participation.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, events, and assemblies for Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing (D/HH) students.
  • Voice the studentd signed communication accurately and neutrally for teachers, staff, and peers
  • Support student participation in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and other school-sponsored activities.
  • Convey important auditory environmental cues (bells, alarms, announcements) to students.
  • Assist with behavior support plans and model appropriate communication behaviors when needed
