Job summary

The Montgomery County Intermediate Unit (PaTTAN-East) seeks an Educational Consultant to provide coaching, technical assistance, and professional development in special education, structured literacy, and English Learners. A master's degree and PA instructional certification are required, with EL programming expertise preferred and willingness to travel regionally.

Salary ranges from $65,007 to $117,883, with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

A vacancy exists for an Educational Consultant position at the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit at PaTTAN - East. The Educational Consultant providesexpertise in the areas of special education, structured literacy, and English Learners to respond to PDE, BSE, and Eastern Region IUs' and their districts' requests for coaching, technical assistance, and professional development.

Qualifications:

Must possess a master's degree and Pennsylvania Instructional Certification in at least one of the following: Special Education, English as a Second Language, General Education, and School Psychology

Expertise and experience in English Learner (EL) programming preferred

Experience providing technical assistance, professional development, and coaching

Ability to work effectively with professional personnel in educational agencies

Original certificates of clearance from the State Police, Child Abuse Registry, and PDE FBI

Duties and Responsibilities:

Respond to PDE and BSE requests for technical assistance

Respond to the eastern region IUs' and their districts' requests for classroom, building, and district-level coaching and technical assistance

Create and provide professional development for educators, administrators, and IU personnel in the education of students with disabilities

Plan and participate in regional and statewide conferences, workshops, and planning sessions

Assist in the preparation of publication materials (i.e., directories, brochures, training modules, manuals, and electronic resources)

Some overnight travel is required

Location: PaTTAN - East is located at 2500 Monroe Blvd, Norristown PA.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7.5 hours/day, 10 months (194 days/year). Eligible to work up to 35 supplemental days/year.

Salary: Master's, Step 1: $65,007/year - Master's+60, Step 15: $117,883/year

*Placement on salary schedule based on experience and/or education beyond the Master's Degree.
