Job summary

A family-owned Public Works Contractor based in California is looking for an experienced Estimator to join their team. This role focuses on public-sector construction projects, primarily in education. The Estimator will be responsible for preparing competitive cost estimates, analyzing project drawings, and coordinating with subcontractors. Ideal candidates should have over 3 years of relevant experience, strong knowledge of construction materials, and familiarity with estimating software. Qualifications

• 3+ years of estimating experience with educational construction projects (DSA/K-12).
• Proven ability to perform detailed quantity takeoffs and prepare competitive bids.
• Familiarity with construction estimating software.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings and specifications to develop detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids.
• Prepare detailed bid packages for educational and public-sector projects.
• Collaborate with project management to refine scope and costs.
• Analyze historical data to maintain competitive pricing models.
