Educational Assistant

Job Summary

Under direct supervision, the purpose of the position is to provide staff support in an educational environment, with emphasis on providing support to teachers, staff and students. Incumbents assist teachers with all other facets of school activities. Essential functions as outlined herein are performed according the needs of the assigned teacher(s). Perform related work as directed.

Reports to: Building Principal

Qualifications
  • Current Licensure for Educational Assistant
  • Minimum: High school diploma, (AA or higher preferred)
  • Ability to fulfill the dexterity and physical requirements of the work, and effectively attend to the needs of school age children; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Additional hours training preferred.
Desired Qualifications

Knowledge of Continuous Improvement Strategies and Professional Learning Communities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Evaluation

Performance of duties will be evaluated at least annually in accordance with Aztec School Board Policy.

This position will require the employee to function at a “Medium” physical capacity as defined by Worker’s Compensation Statutes. “Medium” physical capacity indicates the ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally or up to 25 pounds frequently.
