Qualifications

• Successful completion of an examination approved by the Hawaii DOE (ParaPro or ParaPathways).
• At least 48 baccalaureate-level credits from an accredited institution, including 3 credits in mathematics and 3 credits in English.
• An associate degree or higher from an accredited institution recognized by the Department.

Responsibilities

• Independently performs academic, instruction-related support activities and tutors students as directed by the teacher.
• Provides social, vocational, and daily living instruction to students with disabilities to enable independence.
• Performs counseling support activities, develops rapport, observes progress, and promotes healthy self-concept.
• Provides articulation reinforcement lessons and drills to correct speech sounds under guidance of the speech pathologist.
