Job Overview

Educational Assistant Positions (Educational Assistant III) at an unspecified location. Applications are also considered for Educational Assistant I and II if needed.

Responsibilities
  • Independently performs academic and instruction‑related support activities, tutors students, and reports on progress and difficulties.
  • Provides social, vocational, and daily living instruction to students with disabilities, observing and reporting on progress and suggesting modifications.
  • Performs counseling support activities, develops rapport, encourages expression of problems, and carries out approved activities promoting self‑concept, social skills, and early identification of special needs.
  • Delivers articulation reinforcement lessons and repetitive drills to improve speech sounds under guidance of a speech pathologist; can receive related training.
Qualifications
Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent *plus*:
    • Success on an approved examination (ParaPro or ParaPathways Assessment) OR
    • At least 48 baccalaureate‐level semester credits (3 in math, 3 in English) OR
    • An associate degree or higher from an accredited institution.
  • Additional substitutions: Child Development Associate credential, 15 bachelor credits, or an associate/degree in education can substitute for required experience.
Experience
  • Educational Assistant I – 0 years general, 0 years specialized.
  • Educational Assistant II – 1 year general, 0 years specialized.
  • Educational Assistant III – 1 year general, 1 year specialized.
  • General experience: Paid or volunteer work with direct interaction, demonstrating ability to observe, evaluate, and report.
  • Specialized experience: Direct academic or behavioral services to students with disabilities.
Driver's License

Some positions require possession of a current, valid driver's license.

Lift and Carry
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 65 pounds.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 100 pounds with assistance.
Salary & Benefits

Salary range (full time):

  • Educational Assistant I – $3,019.78 per month
  • Educational Assistant II – $3,260.76 per month
  • Educational Assistant III – $3,526.98 per month
