Job summary

Position: Education Assistant-ELD Services Work Site: Student Services Hours/FTE: 0.875 FTE / 7 hours per day; Probationary Salary: $18.69-$22.88

JOB SUMMARY

Assiststeachingstaffbyperforminginstructionaltaskswithstudentsinsmallgroupsandone-on-one settings, record keeping, and supervision.Performs duties with close supervision.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Worksdirectlywithstudentswithavarietyofneeds at multiple school sites.
  • Implementsplannedactivitiesusingteacher-designedmethodsandmaterialsforindividualand small student groups for instructional support.
  • Assistsstudentsintheuseofavarietyofcomputersoftwareandtestingprograms.
  • Testsandevaluatesstudents'abilitiesinmath,writing,reading,listeningandspeakingandtracks progress as directed by teacher.
  • Monitorsandassistsstudentsasneededintheclassroom,playground,lockerrooms,busduty and at meal times.
  • Assistsstudentsasneededwithminorfirstaid,cleanup,andtoileting.
  • Assiststheteacherintheset-upandmaintenanceoftheclassroom,materialsandsupplies; including basic classroom housekeeping.
  • Preparesandprovidesclericalsupportsuchasrecord keeping,copying,filing,grading assignments, data entry and taking attendance
  • Assiststheteacherinschedulingappropriatemeetingsandcompletionofpaperwork.
  • CreatesdocumentsinlanguagesotherthanEnglishfornon-Englishspeakingstudentsand parents.
  • Translatesandinterpretsforstudents,staffandparents.
  • Supportsteacherwithinhomevisitsasneeded.
  • Maintainsandsecuresconfidentialrecordsandinquiriesasneeded.
  • Collaborateseffectivelyasateammemberatregularteammeetings.

  • Annually pass the District's required online training by the District's assigned due-date.
  • Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policies and procedures.
  • While working collaboratively with others, implements decisions within ASD established policies and procedures.
  • Professionally represent the school and the District in interactions with parents, community, staff, and students and resolves conflict in a professional manner.
