Job summary

Sarasota County Schools is seeking a dedicated paraeducator to support classroom instruction and student supervision under the direction of the classroom teacher. You will assist with behavioral management and help create a safe, engaging learning environment for students.

Responsibilities include assisting with personal care tasks, preparing instructional materials, and maintaining accurate records. Applicants should meet education requirements and be prepared to complete CPI and ASD-related

Qualifications

• Pass the Para Pro Assessment or hold AA/AS or 60-hour equivalent.
• Complete CPI training during probation.
• Possibly register for ASD certification by probation end.

Responsibilities

• Independently supervise and implement instruction to students as assigned.
• Assist staff with behavioral management.
• Assist in creating a safe learning environment and workplace.
• Assist with preparation of records, reports and clerical duties.
• Assist with development of instructional materials.
• Assist with personal care and hygiene tasks as needed.
• Support school-wide supervisory tasks as assigned.
• Monitor student progress and communicate with staff and parents.
