Job summary

The position supports students with varying needs and participates in planning, record keeping, and maintaining materials for displays and learning centers as required by administrators.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Associates degree or ParaPro Assessment with score 456+ preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in daily lesson and activity planning with teacher.
• Conducts learning exercises with individuals or small groups of children.
• Guides children to participate harmoniously with peers.
• Alerts the teacher to any special needs of individual students.
• Provides escort and assistance to students as necessary.
• Walks students through buildings when required.
• Maintains individual student records and progress notes.
• Keeps classroom and study areas neat and organized.
• Supervises children during regular play periods.
• Collects and displays suitable materials for educational displays.
• Assists students with personal care.
• Duties as assigned by administrators.

• Alerts the teacher to the special needs of individual children.
• Provides escort and assistance to children as necessary.
• Must be able to walk students throughout the building as necessary.
• Helps maintain individual records for each child.
• Assist the teacher in maintaining neat work and study areas.
• Assist with the supervision of children during regular play periods.
• Collects and displays suitable material for educational displays.
• Assist students with personal care.

Other: Duties as assigned by administrators.
